Warmly welcome to our Spring Reconnection retreat! We want your journey to feel as smooth, safe, and supported as possible. This guide will help you understand exactly how to get from Zurich Airport to Schweibenalp Centre of Unity, and we are also offering an alternative option if you’d like to travel together. 💛
Option 1: Travel Directly to Schweibenalp
Step 1: Arrive at Zurich Airport (ZRH)
After collecting your luggage, simply follow the signs for:
"Train / Bahnhof / SBB"
The train station is directly inside Zurich Airport.
You can download the SBB Mobile App (Swiss train app) before travelling. That way your can use the app to pay for your train and bus travel in Switzerland. You can buy your ticket in advance with the app or on https://www.sbb.ch/en, some in advance tickets are discounted.
You can also buy your train ticket at the train station using the ticketing machines (usually no queue) or in the ticketing office (there may be a queue at the office). You can buy a ticket directly to Schweibenalp.
If you are just coming for the retreat, it is not worth it to buy any special travel card, just get regular rain tickets.
Step 2: Train Journey to Brienz
A typical train route is:
Zurich Airport → Zurich HB → Lucerne (Luzern) → Interlaken Ost → Brienz
(Sometimes the route may vary slightly depending on the day.)
The total journey usually takes around:
2.5–3.5 hours
Swiss trains are very reliable, clean, and easy to navigate.
If you need help, station staff are usually very helpful and most speak English.
Step 3: From Brienz to Schweibenalp
Bus from Brienz
From Brienz train station, take the "Axalp" postal bus to the "Bramisegg" stop. For travel routes and timetables, visit www.sbb.ch. The retreat centre is approximately 800 meters (about a 15-minute walk) from the Bramisegg stop.
Schweibenalp offers a free pick up from Bramisegg, Myriam can arrange this for you.
Pick-up from Brienz
A pick-up service from Brienz train station is available upon request (CHF 50 per trip for up to 4 people) by the retreat centre. Myriam can arrange this for you on request.
Option 2: Stay With Myriam and Mandy in Zurich and travel together
You are warmly invited to stay with Myriam and Mandy in Zurich for 1–2 nights before the retreat.
This means you could spend some time visiting Zurich and then travel to the retreat centre together.
In this case, follow step 1 and just get a ticket train ticket to Zurich main station, Mandy or Myriam will meet you there.
Please message me if you would like to stay with me so I can give you my address and arrange picking you up.
